2017
In the year 2017, I was finally somewhat stable enough to go on my first European backpacking trip. While I had gone to Ireland once with my mom and brother, this would be the first in a long series of trips with “The Gang“. We started with a bang too—five countries in two weeks!
2018
Having a little experience under us, we decided to just explore one country this time. We also all lived in new areas of the country, so we’d be meeting in Reykjavík from Grand Rapids, MI, Minneapolis, MN, and St. Louis, MO. This also made it much easier to create a series, considering there would only be one color scheme.
2019
My first time going on two international trips in a single calendar year was in 2019. First, I turned 30 on a bender in Ireland with 4 close buddies; unless you want to count Guinness as the 6th member of the group. Next, I went on a honeymoon-ish to Spain with an ex—but, at least the food and wine was great!
2022
The COVID-19 pandemic put a massive damper on my (and everyone else’s) travels, as well as my home life (and everyone else’s). My old traveling gang got back together to make up for lost time in and around the Iberian peninsula. Shortly after, I went back to Amsterdam and my first Paris visit with old design buddy.
2023
Looking for a relaxing single-country adventure, my travel buddies headed out to the cold and desolate (and awesome) island of Scotland! Then over Christmas and New Year’s, I took the absolute trip of a lifetime with some of the same friends, except to a whole new part of the world. That’s right, three weeks in Japan & Korea!
