I Can Buy Myself Flowers

Flowers is a short session concepted by Lisa Ghysels of Photos By Lisa.

This was a quick little shoot I did with photographer Lisa Ghysels. It’s me, some flowers, and just enough symbolism to make you wonder if I’m going through something (don’t worry, I’m fine). We didn’t overthink it—Lisa snapped some shots, I held a few stems, and somehow it turned into a visual metaphor for independence, or growth, or whatever you want it to be. There’s definitely an unspoken narrative about blooming or resilience or self-sufficiency, but we’re not going to make a big deal out of it. It’s floral. It’s moody. It’s mildly dramatic in the way that holding flowers alone in a field kind of is.

Mostly, it was a fun excuse to collaborate with a talented photographer and see what came out of it. The session was short, but the photos say enough. If you’re into introspective moments, artsy portraits, or vaguely symbolic flower photo shoots, this one might be for you. Interpret it however you like—I already have.
